Environment

Families today are dealing with so much on the outside that we desperately need the home to be a haven of rest and acceptance. When we would find ourselves out of balance with the stress and routine of work and bills and frustrations of what I call “maintenance mode”, we would escape to the hills and get back to our roots in NC (photo above) where my parents have the TV off, and plenty to pick in the NC garden.
a haven of rest.
And I would breathe in a fresh, peaceful, welcoming breath of family and unconditional love, so we could bring it back home again.
You can read about the past on our health page, but as for this page, I am focusing on the present.
We are getting better at creating that environment ourselves, although we do still love to return to NC. I want to add some tips here that may help you on your journey to creating that balance in your home.
Here is a popular post I wrote on a grandmother’s advice to create a safe haven for our children.
After a recent trip back to NC, I wrote this group of essays on timeless Principles I learned from my Dad, PoppaBob.
Principle #3-Consistent Kindness
Principle #4 respect Everyone’s Purpose
