Shiny Things-Lessons I Learned from my Wildboys
As a parent, Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed with the your circumstances?
Are you dealing with behavior issues or meltdowns, that sometimes may even be your own?
Do you wonder, “Where is my peace?” in the middle of the turmoil?
Being a mother and wife can be a a frustrating, messy and sometimes painful job.
But mixed in with all of the clutter, legos, mud and attitudes, is that unending hope for the bigger picture of the precious lives we are molding and shaping.
“Shiny Things” is a collection of humorous stories that Sophia shared as an Inspirational Speaker from 2005-2008.
Each story relates the joys and frustrations of parenting active children (er, wild boys),
using those (sometimes unusual) circumstances to gently remind us of sustaining principles along the way.
With real-life humor, Sophia weaves us through the challenges of loss, continuous blessings and a resonating hope that carries us onto our next adventure.
Regardless of the season of life you are facing, you will laugh and reflect on the life principles we can learn to recognize
from the very center of our circumstances.

TESTIMONIALS
Shiny Things is a great view into the world of raising adventuresome boys. Sophia has used lessons taught by God to help the reader see HIM in each escapade. You will experience the very real pain of losing a child and you will laugh out loud at the journey of parenting little explorers! I highly recommend this sweet book to anyone who wants to see active children through the eyes of God.

That was great!!! I have had a great many laughs and some heartwarming thoughts while reading the e-book. I had planned to read only a few pages, but couldn’t stop reading and read the whole thing. I grew up with 4 brothers and being the only girl for 10yrs, until my sweet sister arrived, I could so relate to some of those antics. My son is most definitely a wild boy and although my husband has not pulled out the leaf blower in the house yet, he is a wild man! I especially laughed hard while reading, what I am assuming, the back cover of the book. I thought I was going to wake everyone up. It is very late and everyone is sleeping. Very humorous, heartwarming and thought provoking.
Well done.

I love your book. Every word, every picture, everything about it. You are such a fabulous writer, story teller, and inspiration, not to mention the amazing things you create with a paint brush. Every time I read something you write (yes, I do read your web site when I have a few min….especially after a long frustrating day when I need a pick me up) I am inspired to try to be a better person.
Your book is written from the heart with real life stories both happy and sad. It’s emotional, but in a good way. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. I wouldn’t change a thing. John has been after me for years to write a book about my life as a military wife and mother. It always seemed so intimidating, but after reading what you have written, maybe I will start one of my own.
