I was thinking of all the new topics that I am wanting to write about. I usually have been focusing here on parenting, health and ART which are the most pressing things in my life. But I have spent many years in networking and home-based business.

Starting Dare2Shine as a non-profit ministry in 05, I was then advised to pursue for-profit since I had products to sell. But for many years it still felt like a ministry and most of what I did was volunteer speaking and emotional art. After I began to homeschool again, I found myself with a for-profit, that felt like a not-profit-able. Then I met with a friend who does PR for ministries. He gently reminded me that even a NPO’s goal is to “generate revenue“. There are still websites to pay for, web-designers to pay, things to be printed and copied and corporate taxes and fees. I do need to get smart about my corporation

I am realizing how many women in my own life are desperately looking for guidance and steering in these areas. I have avoided much on these subjects since I never felt like a “professional” or a coach. But reminded myself that I do explore other sites, I do read great books, learn from the pros, and am taking babysteps through this whole owner of a corporation thing. I still can SHARE what I have learned.

I was asked to speak a few weeks ago, at a business event, to encourage some of the women in the particular networking business and the value that they brought to the table. In doing so, I was reminding myself of my own value and all I had to offer. We are the largest purchasers in the home. We are inherently the ones most focused on “relationships” and communication, which is KEY to running a business together, or even just managing a home

So I am going to start writing more on finance, business, personal goals, dreams, and some areas that greatly interest me as a WAHM.

As I was looking into thesis again, (I love it and will be purchasing it soon!) I found this site for simplemom. She broke down the snowball plan from Dave Ramsey, reminding me of the fabulous class we took last year and how much I am still working on implementing it into our own personal life. We have found it to be harder than it looks when you are in sales and have a fluctuating income AND multiple income streams. They are a blessing but require one KEY thing.  the dreaded “C” word.
Communication
That can be really difficult for those who have not been in the habit of talking about money

But we are realizing over the past year or so, with the economical changes, how IMPERATIVE it really is that she knows the deal, and is even integral in the decisions, the budget, the savings, and maybe even some form of the incoming as well.

So along with my business, now being fulltime, I am encouraging Wildman(my husband) to get back to our DR habits (because Dave says) and work on a new gameplan. We have one in progress, but it always needs updating and tweaking.

just like communication.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Simplemom also referred me to another site, paidtwice, who breaks the snowball theory down into smaller steps of any amount of money called “snowflakes”. Apparently it is an entire movement, as you can see from the numerous links that are promoting and implementing it.
I am looking forward to reading more from them and learning.
